Sequence of Meaning

This lecture provides practices to analyse and understand New Media Artworks that incorporate Dynamic Programming Algorithms, Bots, and Robots. Exploring techniques such as paraphrasing, identifying visible and hidden elements, and sequencing events to extract meaning from the artworks. Before each class, a maximum of 3 artworks are assigned to groups of students who gather information and analyse them. During the class, students share their findings and present two scenarios: one showcasing a solid conceptual structure and narrative and another pointing out missing contextual points and weak communication with the audience. The underlying goals of this lecture are to identify contextual elements, understand the conceptual structure of New Media Art, and construct meaning from observations. This practice enhances skills in reasoning, reconstructing narratives, and storytelling in the field of new media arts.
